Job Title: Simulation Learning Designer (Contract to hire)
Contract: 6 months
Work Location: New York, NY (Will consider Durham, NC)
Job Description:
The Simulation Learning Designer (SLD) serves as part curriculum designer, part business analyst, part content developer, and part production coordinator. The SLD brings together simulation design technology and subject-matter expert content to create a Virtual Patient Simulation (VPS) program. The SLD uses proprietary software and authoring tools to create VPSs, ensuring that simulations align with program learning objectives. As an SLD, you will have your hands in every part of the simulation design process, assisting the team of SLD’s throughout, along with coordinating video production and studio time with the multimedia team.

Major Responsibilities
• Develop Virtual Patient Simulations based on determined knowledge gaps and learning objectives
• Demonstrate consulting skills when interacting with partners and subject matter experts, and other stakeholders
• Determine appropriate VPS solutions based on the learning needs of the audience and grant
• Coordinate video production across all simulations with the multimedia team
• With little direction and minimal assistance from SMEs and Scientific Director, develop Virtual Patient Simulations
• Liaise with the Project Manager to meet all deadlines and provide updates on progress
• Manage concurrent projects, internal and external, and associated timelines and deliverables
• Identify and develop new procedures and techniques to improve training and/ or operations effectiveness in performing tasks related to the workflow of creating a program
• Represent with internal team members and / or external stakeholders

• Preferred recent employment or experience in instructional design, adult learning theory, and multimedia communications
Desired (not required) Skills:
• Master’s degree in education/ instructional design and 5-8 years of related experience
• Knowledge of CME and models of physician behavior change
• Knowledge of simulations, serious games
• Film / video production background
• Background of working in or creating teaching materials for Medical, or other high-risk industries
• Knowledge of The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) guidelines
Education/Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in education/instructional design or equivalent experience and 2 years of related experience
