Job Description

Thrombosis is a Global Business Unit within LEO Pharma operating with promotional, commercial, medical and supply chain teams within Europe and Canada, whilst working with partners in the promotion and distribution of our products in markets across the globe.

 

Key markets and priorities

In Thrombosis, our key markets are France, Germany, markets across North & South Europe and Canada, whilst we are currently establishing and developing our commercial footprint in Italy. In the business unit, our key priorities remain to leverage our 80 years of experience within venous thromboembolic diseases, expanding our leadership in cancer associated thrombosis and advancing patient care whilst harvesting our investment in the innohep® production sites. 

 

Providing Treatment for Special Populations and Cancer Patients

Our unique focus is on providing treatment solutions for Special Populations and Cancer Patients. Blood clots can be a leading cause of death in many clinical situations, particularly cancer associated thrombosis. We are leaders in this market segment and use our category leadership to enhance medical research and knowledge and improve patient care. We also have a special focus on patient complexities including fragile, advancing age and pregnancy.

Being a part of of the Thrombosis Business Unit, you are working together with more than 450 colleagues around the world to advance the care of patients with thrombosis. We place the patient at the centre of our business through collaboration with patient charities, initiatives and the development of various patient support programmes. Our leadership is defined from our fully integrated end-to-end European supply chain from molecular sourcing, processing and finished goods manufacturing.  

 

Role Description

Effective management of the Thrombosis Business unit, in accordance with Thrombosis Global Business Unit priorities, fundamentals, and values, ultimately results in optimal performance of our products in Canada. Your management of financial targets in LEO Canada Sales and Marketing enhances the country contribution and the achievement of the global Thrombosis GBU and LEO Pharma A/S Group result.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

 

International Involvement:

  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with the parent company and ensure Canadian input on key collaboration areas

  • Form part of the Thrombosis Global Business Unit Management Team and be part of strategic and operational initiatives and decision making to achieve long-term objectives through the optimal involvement of LEO Pharma Canada business unit. 

  • Be active part of Canadian Leadership Team  and support legal entity achieving local obligations.

  • Actively review, plan, and mitigate risks with local and global supply chain team 

 

Sales and Marketing in Canada:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Thrombosis Global Business Unit policies, decisions and guidelines

  • Liaise with Canadian Key Opinion Leaders and the Canadian Thrombosis community to identify opportunities for LEO in Canada and to enhance the image of LEO in the Canadian Thrombosis community

  • Interact and Collaborate with Medical, Research and Development, Regulatory, Finance, HR and other relevant resources and functions in relative LEO Canada or global capacities. 

 

Medical in Canada:

  • Engage and contribute to Medical collaboration to ensure alignment in strategy and operational objectives. 

 

Planning and Budgeting:

  • Develop short-term and long-term budgets to achieve Canada BU and Thrombosis Global Business Unit objectives.  

  • Maintain effective operational control over approved Departmental Budgets

  • Effectively allocate resources to maximize contribution on Sales

 

Staff and Structure:

  • Build a high performing Thrombosis team with attracting and retaining and consistently developing the appropriate capability profile to achieve business objectives.  

  • Ensure that an appropriate performance management, engagement platforms and compensation management systems are in place to manage costs and are being leveraged in service of the high performance business culture, within the relevant policy guidelines.

  • Continuously review resource allocation to ensure that team is optimally set up to achieve P&L and strategic objectives.    

  • Responsible for the overall management of the 3rd party support vendors including Regulatory Affairs and Patient Support

Policies and Procedures:

  • Support, maintain and review the approved policies and procedures of the company

 

Pharmacovigilance & Compliance with Adverse Events

  • Recognize that PV cases may come to your knowledge in this role and fulfil the responsibility to forward any adverse event and patient safety cases to the local Pharmacovigilance department in accordance with company policies

 

General

  • Ensure compliance with appropriate SOP’s, policies and guidelines.

  • Complete mandatory training in assigned timelines upon hire as well as when new policies, SOP's, guidances are issued.

  • Participate in personal development and training sessions as required for the position.

  • Work in a safe manner that does not endanger yourself or co-workers.  Report any health or safety concerns (internal and external) in compliance with LEO policy and standard procedures.

  • Strive to consistently uphold LEO Pharma’s core values.  

  • Execute other duties as may be required by Executive team members and other members of LEO Pharma’s Management team as training and experience allow.

  • 10+years Senior Sales and Marketing Management experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Relevant B.Sc. and/or Business Degree

  • Ability and willingness to travel

  • Experience in working with MS office in a Windows environment
