Job Description

As Global Marketing Director, anemia role-based in Wilmington, DE / Cambridge, UK, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. This role sits within our broader Biopharmaceutical Business Unit, which helps bridge science and commercial, integrating corporate, portfolio, therapy areas and product strategies, providing strategic direction from early-stage research through to commercialization.

The Global Marketing Director will be working on a new 1st in class treatment for anemia for patients with:

 

Various oncology conditions and potentially other niche anemia conditions, as a part of the Global Life cycle management (LCM) program. This individual will be accountable to a) build robust, insight/analysis based commercial case for various Phase 2 / Phase 3 LCM programs and delivering positive investment decisions at global internal investment decision bodies, and b) develop the strategic global plan, its execution and launch preparation for potentially approvable LCM indications to ensure a successful launch. Certain key projects on the CKD anemia indication would also be a part of the remit as and when required.

The role is a key member of the Biopharmaceutical Commercial team and Global Brand Team (GBT), and collaborates closely with colleagues across Biopharmaceutical Commercial, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs and other partners. The role reports to the Head of Marketing, Global Anemia.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent & Provide Commercial Input on various GPT Development Workstreams
  • Evaluate Anemia Market dynamics & recommend clinical programs that will strengthen the overall franchise
  • Build & Lead Commercial Evaluation Plans to explore areas of interest: Market Landscape analysis, Insight Plan, Strategy Development, Forecast Development – in close cross-functional collaboration
  • Deliver Commercial Business Cases to relevant approving bodies for LCM investments decisions
  • Develop, Secure Funding and Deliver Pre-Launch Commercial Plans for invested/live LCM programs
  • Create innovative anemia market development programs in collaboration with broader CVRM Initiatives
  • Lead 1 or 2 critical projects for CKD anemia indication

Essential Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
     

Knowledge

  • Strong expertise in market analysis, deep market research insights mining, forecast analysis and business case development with scenario planning
  • Detailed understanding of the development process and necessary commercial touchpoints
  • Sufficient understanding of technical risks & implications for the commercial aspects to future brands
  • Deep knowledge on market-shaping solutions leveraging innovative & disruptive models
     

Experience

  • Extensive specialty commercial & marketing experience in Oncology/Nephrology /CKD/Anemia, both in pre and post-launch (within or outside AZ)
  • Developing compelling business cases especially focused on LCM assets (in-country / above-country)
  • Working with R&D, medical affairs, Pricing / Market access as a commercial lead in CFTs
  • Working with external customers including patients, prescribers, payers, providers and partners
