Job Description

A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused principally on four disease areas - breast, ovarian, lung and hematological cancers. As well as other tumor types, these are being targeted through four key platforms - immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage repair, and antibody drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As the Diagnostic Manager for Southwest Territory (Southern California-Arizona) you will leverage your current diagnostic market and clinical test market experience that will make an impact within a large, global pharmaceutical company. This is a newly developed group with an exciting start-up, entrepreneurial feel that will provide a position of treatment options for patients.

 

You will ensure the timely, high quality in-market companion diagnostics / testing solutions to enable optimal treatment throughout the patient journey. An important element of this role is therefore to work collaboratively with the regional sales team and execute on tactical plans with a good understanding of clinical operational issues on the testing pathway developing tailored testing solutions as needed. You will work in appropriate coordination with the Field Sales Team, Medical Scientific Liaisons, and execute on tactical plans with a good understanding of clinical operational issues on the testing pathway and developing tailored appropriate testing solutions as needed.

 

You will Identify and develop relationships with, scientific experts: Laboratory decision makers, Pathologists, Oncologists and Molecular Pathologists, share appropriate, approved, educational information on diagnostics to the heads of clinical Laboratories and their staff, deliver highly technical data presentations, and educate on the need for diagnostic quality assurance (QA) programs. In addition, you will Identify barriers to testing through partnerships with diagnostic companies, lab networks, and Health Care Professionals (HCPs), develop strategies to support and educate on appropriate testing, adhere to the AZ Code of Conduct, The US Policy Handbook, Standards, and SOPs as well as comply with all regulatory and compliance requirements for your role.

Essential Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree; preferably an Advanced degree in life sciences, medical or pharmacy degree
  • Five or more years of experience in diagnostic market and clinical testing market; preferably Oncology experience
  • Expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to travel (percentage varies with geography)
