Job Description

As Medical Affairs Manager – Breast Cancer, you’ll play a pivotal role in channelling our scientific abilities in making a positive impact on patients’ lives. The team you’d be joining is dynamic, forward looking and has an industry leading set of existing and pipeline products!

You will lead the Medical input to business strategic and operational planning for Breast Cancer, including development of the Medical Affairs plans.

 

Key Accountabilities will include:

  • To aid the delivery of clinical insight, customer focus and clinical governance into Medical and Business Unit objectives.
  • To deliver Therapy Area /Brand objectives as outlined in Brand Medical Plans.
  • To develop and deliver pre-, peri- and post-launch medical plans and activities
  • To work closely with the field MSL team.
  • Work collaboratively with both the AZ Business Unit Team and where required, colleagues in external partner companies.
  • Act to ensure GCP requirements are fully complied with and in line with the local Quality Management System (QMS) SOP and all other AZ policies and Standards, including the ABPI Code of Practice.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Registered Physician (preferably GMC) or Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council).
  • Experience in Oncology, ideally in Breast cancer.
  • Prior experience in a Medical Affairs role – a minimum of 2-years for exceptional candidates is expected.
  • Proven expertise in the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Knowledgeable about the NHS landscape and set up.
  • Proven ability to interact with external stakeholders.
  • Evidence of effective team working and accountability.
  • It is mandatory for the performance of this role to hold or successfully acquire Nominated Signatory status. You are required to gain Nominated Signatory status within 6 months of commencing your role. You are also required to pass re-validation testing every 12- 24 months or as requested.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Higher Degree in Oncology (e.g. PhD / MSc Oncology)
  • Member/Fellow of a Royal College of Physicians/Surgeons/GPs or the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
  • Technical expertise in the allocated disease/therapy area, ideally in Breast Cancer.
  • Prior experience of the pharmaceutical industry.
