Job Description

We are currently looking for a Senior Medical Manager to join our Medical Affairs team. You'll play a crucial role in channelling AstraZeneca’s scientific leadership in Acute Care to build and create a positive impact on enhancing patients' lives.
 

Reporting to the Associate Medical Director, the Senior Medical Manager is a scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expert responsible for providing scientific and strategic leadership for AstraZeneca’s CVRM Portfolio specifically focused on Acute Care. You will also be responsible for the leadership of the Acute Care MSL team.

Essential for the role

  • Experience working at Medical Manager level or in a similar role in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Demonstrated experience coaching/leading a field based team

  • Experience in product launch or strategy development and execution

  • Curious, strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial creative problem solving approach and strong project management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to get things done and strong sense of urgency.

  • Strong, clear communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, internally within a matrix environment and externally

  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing and approving promotional materials to ensure scientific accuracy and compliance with MA Code of Conduct
     

Desirable for the role

  • Experience within CVRM therapy areas

  • Qualifications in a relevant scientific area and/or prior clinical experience e.g. MD, PharmD, PhD

  • Experience supporting clinical development activities including phase1-3 clinical trial feasibility and phase 4 clinical trial strategy

  • Experience providing medical support for product label updates and regulatory activities as required
