Our UK Marketing Company (UKMC) is responsible for the marketing of our medicines in the UK. Here you’ll also find colleagues from AstraZeneca’s corporate functions and our European and International regions’ sales and marketing teams. As a member of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), all of our sales, marketing and communications activities are subject to the ABPI Code of Practice.

 

It has been agreed that the UKMC head office will move from Luton to Pancras Square, London in early 2022. This role will be initially based in our Luton office, until this move takes place.

Our move to Pancras Square offers us the strongest possible platform to transform the lives of patients in the UK, as the country’s leading biopharmaceutical company. The move will bring the UK Marketing Company closer to customers, partners and stakeholders in the UK’s healthcare environment, as well as foster greater collaboration with the wider AZUK footprint.

 

What you'll do

  • You will support the development of brand strategy and lead the implementation of tactics through leadership of the cross functional team. This includes the external strategy and commercial interaction with key customer groups within the particular therapeutic area, including clinical, governmental, national and regional payer groups to deliver positive outcomes.

  • Working with key internal stakeholders from Payer Evidence, Medical, Account Management, Senior Management and other Therapeutic Area teams, the Brand Leader will lead strategic planning for patient access (Value story/propositions) and communicate accordingly for the nominated brand.

  •  The Brand Leader is responsible for the delivery of sales and customer value within defined resources. Accountable for all marketing team deliverables of the brand including driving practice change at scale, developing the single brand plan tactical execution and activation.

Desired Skills & Experience

Essential skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified, ideally with additional post-graduate qualification such as an MBA

  • It is mandatory for the performance of this role to hold or successfully acquire Nominated Signatory status. You are required to gain Nominated Signatory status within 6 months of commencing your role. You are also required to pass re-validation testing every 12-24 months or as required.

  • Significant pharmaceutical commercial experience with a strong performance track record

  • Strong marketing leadership with a successful track record of growing market share as well as preparing for and successfully launching new products and brands.

  • Creative marketing capabilities together with rigorous commercial business sense

 

Desirable:

  • MBA

  • Good experience of the UK market, with its unique NHS system

  • Sales management experience
