What you'll do

 

The Vaccines Account Manager is responsible for generating awareness and clinical demand for their assigned portfolio with key accounts, pro-actively identifying business opportunities, presenting value propositions aligned to stakeholder needs and objectives in line with JCVI guidance, and recommending solutions to drive and develop the business along a customer and patient agenda. Key activities will include:  

  • Deliver sales targets for allocated brands
  • Input into and execution and delivery of the business plans
  • Deliver against all agreed individual and team metrics in order to achieve Account goals, investing resources and budgets in line with agreed plans / expenditure. You will ensure impact from resource invested
  • Identify potential barriers to prescribing within these accounts and works with the Vaccines marketing team and relevant cross functional stake holders (field and office based) to implement aligned action plans
  • Demonstrate & maintain high levels of clinical, therapy area and environmental knowledge
  • Deliver high quality sales interactions with both clinical and payer customers alike
  • Facilitate the development of local/regional formularies and guidelines as required
  • Ensure compliance of all AZ Governance Framework (CDTI) & ABPI
  • Manage budget within +/- 3%.

 

Our UK Marketing Company (UKMC) is responsible for the marketing of our medicines in the UK. Here you’ll also find colleagues from AstraZeneca’s corporate functions and our European and International regions’ sales and marketing teams. As a member of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), all of our sales, marketing and communications activities are subject to the ABPI Code of Practice.

 

It has been agreed that the UKMC head office will move from Luton to Pancras Square, London in early 2022. This role will be initially based in our Luton office, until this move takes place.

 

Our move to Pancras Square offers us the strongest possible platform to transform the lives of patients in the UK, as the country’s leading biopharmaceutical company. The move will bring the UK Marketing Company closer to customers, partners and stakeholders in the UK’s healthcare environment, as well as foster greater collaboration with the wider AZUK footprint.

Desired Skills & Experience

Essential skills and experience

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Full driving licence
  • ABPI qualification
  • Secondary care sales experience with a sound knowledge of account management 
  • Track record of engaging key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, e.g., mid and senior level healthcare professionals, key accounts and the medical community
  • Proven track record in influencing the stakeholder decision-making process in an ecosystem with multiple influential players / decision makers, with proven track record of creating value in complex DMU
  • Proven demonstration of successful working in complex cross functional teams
  • Business management, commercial acumen and financially analytical & conversant
  • Demonstrable ability to negotiate at business to business level

 

Desirable

  • Business/ commercial related degree
  • Wellard’s diploma or equivalent
  • Significant Pharmaceutical sales experience in: High-Cost Specialist Medicines (specialised commissioning) and Vaccines and/or Biologics 
  • Experience of influencing successfully in a complex organisation
  • Proven track record of launching secondary care medicine/worked in an environment with rapidly shifting clinical and treatment paradigms
